Never let setbacks get you down. If you are working a worthy project, a setback is nothing more than a brief respite to check all of your work and ensure you’re doing the best you can at what you do. Look at it as a time to calm down, work out the kinks, and make your project better.

If it is the first time you’re doing a project of a particular kind, you will have setbacks. They aren’t personal, they happen to everybody. And you should not look at them for anything else than what they are. Delays are merely growing pains.

If you are hitting stumbling blocks and setbacks, are you really pushing yourself into unknown territory as much as you should? Don’t go wild and bet the farm. Have a plan, and work to that plan. Adjust your plans if, and when you need to. Do not be too hard on yourself. Many annoyances are merely a small part of the overall process.

Always remember the people you serve with your projects and what your work will do to help others meet their goals. After all, even if this is the first project you’ve ever done, someone, somewhere will be benefiting in some way from your final project. Stick to that project and don’t give up. Just find ways to make it the best you can.

If you want to talk about this, please send a comment back, and we can arrange to talk about planning and projects.

Thanks for being with me today. I hope to be with you again tomorrow.
